my carlee aceo
I painted Carlee today. :) A painting of her crying when she was 2 weeks old. I think the photo is on her blog, probably in late May or early June entry. Anywho... it was fun! I know it's really amateur but that's okay. I love it and Tony thinks it's cool. :)
I wish I had a scanner, you can't even really tell the colors I used. And the ink smeared a little when I painted over it, but it's okay. I brushed away from her mouth because I was trying to make it look like that's where all the noise was coming from lol... Kind of abstract and not at the same time, no? :) I had fun.
my first aceo painting
I painted my first aceo yesterday. Nobody will probably think it's art, but it's okay because it has special meaning for me. It's very symbolic. The story behind it is this:
I was 5 or 6 and in Pre-K (and yes I really do remember this)... The teachers decided to test our creativity levels and brought out brown paint and paper. They said, "We're going to play some classical music and we want you to paint whatever comes to mind, paint whatever the music makes you think of." So while all the little kids were painting flowers, or ballerinas, and whatnot... I decided I wasn't going to. I was going to paint something completely different... so what did I do? I finger painted my entire sheet brown, the whole thing.... and I got in trouble for it. "That wasn't the assignment Sheena," they scolded me. "You ruined your project."
Before I got in trouble, I thought it was so cool. Mine was the only different one, mine stood out... But then they made me feel terrible about not doing what everyone else was doing... and I honestly believe that was the day my "nonconformist" characteristics were buried along with my confidence in my way of thinking and creativity...
So, yesterday I cut out an aceo sized card and allowed myself to recreate that 5 year old's painting with no criticism, no scolding.... just a brown painting. It's my step towards not limiting myself by overcriticizing my creativity... so here it is. My brown painting.
First ACEO in my collection
I got my first ACEO in the mail today! It's so awesome. Look at it here. I love the concept of this one, that's why I bought it. And this artist's work is so cool. I loved another one she did of a purple cat. I watched it on ebay and forgot to bid. :( I'm sure I'll be buying more from her. I need to list some more stuff I need to get rid of so I can have more money to buy more aceos. :D

okay, well i had originally started a new blog for my ebay stuff... but I think I'm just going to bring it all over here... So, I'll probably be talking about ebay alot now because I love it and it's my new hobby since I don't get to go geocaching much anymore. :)
art collecting
I'm starting a new collection... lol... like I need something else to collect! but this is going to be really cool. They are called ACEOs, and I found out about them on ebay. Artists create trading card size masterpieces and sell them. They are small, 2.5 by 3.5 inches, so they're easy to store or display, and they're alot less expensive than buying huge original paintings! They are so cool! I've already bought a few, but they haven't come in the mail yet. Seeing all the wonderful designs has really inspired me to start creating my own art. I am by no means an artist, but I love art, and I think it would be really challenging and rewarding to explore my own creativity. So, I'll probably be blogging about that soon. well, I ended up canceling on my friend... :( **sorry K** I really wanted to go... Tony finally called back after I had been trying to reach him all day. I picked him up from work around 4, and he was exhausted. I asked him if he would still go with me, and told him I would even drive. I just didn't want to drive by myself... well, he said no, he was too tired. ugh... So I thought about it, and talked myself out of it I guess. I know I know... I'm such a freakin scaredy cat... I didn't want to drive to a new place downtown by myself with the baby, I didn't know how the traffic would be, how the baby was going to be, or if she was going to stress me out while driving... I know sounds stupid. oh well.... it was good I didn't go anyway, Carlee was horribly fussy last night starting at around 6. :( I don't know WHAT was wrong with her, but both me and tony were quite tired of it. But we managed... She was fussy and fought everything up until we finally put her in the crib and let her cry herself to sleep.
day after day after christmas
So, my grandparents left this morning. early early... I was glad they drove down. Grandma helped me alot with dinner. It would of been so much more stressfull if I was doing it by myself. It definately wouldn't of turned out good that's for sure. lol...
Part of me wishes we all still lived in Texas so that we could spend every single holiday together, and see eachother more than once a year. :( especially now that Carlee's here. But I know it can't be that way for a little while anyway. Tony didn't have to work on Christmas like we thought at first. yay! It was a really nice holiday. But he did have duty yesterday (monday) and since that was the legal holiday, he was supposed to be off today, but that didn't happen... it's already noon... grr I don't know when he's going to get home.
If he doesn't get off in time, Carlee and I will be going to a museum without him... My friend K invited us. And it's something I've been wanting to do, so I can't wait to see it. I just hope Tony gets off on time... I hate driving across Jax by myself, but I'll do it if I have to. :D

Carlee gave us our Christmas present early... yesterday to be exact..... yesterday afternoon.... (drum roll....) she CRAWLED for the first time!!! YAY!!! and then last night she was really really fussy, so I was putting stuff on her gums just in case... and GUESS WHAT!!! her first tooth was out!!!! just a little but still!!!! We were SO excited!!! yay!

(and I had to think hard, because I kept telling myself, "no that's normal!"....
1. I can move my pinky toe without moving the other toes.
2. I've never been drunk even though I'm legal now, this is weird simply because I come from a small town where most kids get drunk for the first time at 15 or 16.... (but that doesn't mean I don't drink, because I do.... just not enough to get drunk... I don't know why... tony keeps wanting to see me drunk, lol...)
3. I've always loved kid movies and shows... I love watching them... Nemo, Robots, Dora, Backyardigans (SOO cute!!) and my daughter isn't even old enough to request them... haha.. Tony gets annoyed when I quote the movies... haha. "in a aninanimanimone" "just keep swimming... just keep swimming..." can you tell Nemo is my favorite? lol... my cats are even named Nemo and Dori. (I think that might count as #4.)
4. This one might be a little redundant, but I keep everything... I don't think it's wierd, but tony does. I'm only listing this because a few seconds ago, I had to quit typing to take something away from carlee, and a cat whisker was on the floor... I picked it up and put it on top of the tv... why? I dunno, it's my cat's whisker. lol... plus I'll show tony when he gets home.
5. I saw a UFO once, I think. I was back in highschool and I saw a shooting star but then it stopped suddenly and zoomed the other way, and then disappeared! I don't know of any plane that can do that!
I just thought of some more too.... I have a heart freckle on my shoulder which is funny because of the saying "wearing your heart on your sleeve"... and I do. Oh and one of my pupils is bigger than the other.... okay...

i've been trying to start cleaning... since my grandparents are coming down tomorrow. carlee won't let me get too much done, and tony's got duty again today. grrr... i can't wait until he gets his days off.

and it's only carlee and me again.... :( tony has duty today... third weekend in a row that he has had duty... grrr.... carlee is starting to get into everything! lol... and is almost crawling!!! OMG! anywho.... just a quick entry.... time to feed her a snack. :D

I forgot to say that yesterday I had so much fun! I went with my friend K to a Scholastic Warehouse sale!!!! and came home with a bunch of books for Carlee!!! I was so excited since she only had about a handful of books. It was a lot of fun hanging out and shopping... shopping is always fun! :D Anyways, we got some great deals! Everything was 50% off cover price, and then we all had a coupon for 10 dollars off a 50 dollar purchase! how cool is that? yay!
Humpday
Today feels like it's been a week long... and it's only 12:30... whew...
This morning I had to take Tony to work so that I could keep the car... (we still aren't able to drive the truck)... ugh... anywho.... the reason I needed the car was so that I could take poor Carlee to the doctors. Yesterday morning she woke up with a little bit of crust on her eyes. I didn't think anything of it, then later on they got a little pink, so I went ahead and made an appointment. This morning, they were completely covered! :( So, we went in at 8 am and the doctor said that she thought it was just a viral infection, not pink eye. But, she went ahead and gave me the drops, just in case it gets worse by tomorrow... but if it doesn't then I am not supposed to use the medicine... so... we leave there, and head home so that I can feed her and get her dressed for her Christmas pictures... Picked up a package at the Post Office.... then, drove to walmarts to buy some tights and shoes... they were all out of dressy shoes in size 3 (which is what I was pretty sure she needed.) So, I had to buy size 2 and smush her little feet in there... They fit, they're just a little tight because her feet are so fat. :) So, got her pics taken. I can't wait til we go pick them up, She did so good!!! yay! ***SiGh....*** and now we're finally home! whoa! that was a busy morning... and now I'm starving... lol....

i can't sleep.... and irrational fears
it's after midnight... i can't sleep... it's not that i'm not tired... because i am... i'm freakin exhausted... but as soon as i get into bed... my mind starts racing... and just keeps going. i don't know why i can't "shut it off" like tony tells me to... grrrr.... anywho... so i'm blogging... and using a lot of dots....the other day loraloo posted about irrational fears, hers being the dentist. i posted a comment admitting that mine too is the dentist.. but today i was thinking about it, and i have more than just one irrational fear... i realized today that one of them is....sinks..... yeah.... kitchen sinks.... bathroom sinks.... i hate them... they're disgusting. i have to wash my sink before i wash any dishes in it. is that wierd? lol... i mean, i just look at it, and imagine all the food gunk that is stuck along the sides of the drain... or that gets caught in the crevice around the drain hole.... microscopically rotting away....... ewwwww..... and bathroom sinks.... yuck! even when they're clean, they're gross. when i was little i used to pour a capful of peroxide in the sink to watch it bubble up as it killed millions of little germs. i'm serious. you should try it. it's quite disturbing.... another fear is someone finding a receipt with our whole debit card number on it and cleaning out our account..... i keep all of our receipts.... and finally check all of them when i have a the time.... (which is hardly ever, so they build up) hmm... i don't know why i just don't check them as soon as i get them... but i also keep them for a while just in case... (i've already admitted to being a clutterer on this blog....) so there's yet another example. anyway.... you should really check all of your receipts to make sure the whole card number isn't on it.... i've had to shred some wendy's receipts, hospital receipts, a few other fast food places, but i can't remember which ones..... ugh.... yeah, i'm weird. so i guess those are my other two irrational fears. i was a little overwhelmed today. carlee's started throwing tantrums and i don't know why.... and i know they're tantrums, because as soon as i pick her up, she's fine. oh well.... i really need to get to sleep.... good night guys....

last night.... i won a brand new jogging stroller that retails for 130.00 for 70!!! and i don't have to pay shipping because i can do a local pickup here at jax!!! woo hooo!!!! (tony will be going with me..... don't worry you know who.) :D lol.... yay... i'm so excited! lol... i started a new blog for my ebay stuff... but i haven't done much with it yet... when i do, i'll post a link for those of you who are interested. later!
